The EREBIDAE family is one of the largest moth families containing nearly twenty subfamilies and 25,000 described species. Tiger, lichen, and wasp moths in the Arctiinae subfamily, litter moths in the Herminiinae subfamily, tussock moths in the Lymantriinae subfamily, and underwings (Catocala spp.) are a few of the species found in this moth group.
