The Snowy Orchid (Platanthera nivea), found in the southeastern United States, surely must have some of the snowiest white flowers in the plant world as described by nivea which means snowy. Its knee-high spikes of intensely bright white flowers can be seen popping through the grasses of wet flatwoods which provides another common name, Bog Torch.
