The Eastern Screech Owl (Megascops asio) of the eastern United States is a pint-sized owl that is overlooked until you hear its penetrating trilling call at night. The color of its plumage may vary from gray to rust. The bright yellow eyes can only face forward, but it can turn its head 270 degrees left or right. Mating pairs of this owl will use a nesting box.
