Flowers of Richweed (Collinsonia canadensis) have two stamens while flowers of the similar Blueridge Horsebalm (Collinsonia serotina) have four stamens. Leaves of the two species also have different scents, with the former having a lemony scent and the latter with a distinct anise or licorice scent.
